Printing Photos from an HP iPod

Introduction

Print photos from the HP iPod by connecting it directly to the HP Photosmart printers using the iPod Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable.

Print from an HP iPod

Step one: Ensure that the images and the HP iPod meet these requirements

Images must be in the JPEG (.jpg) format.

The HP iPod must be formatted in Windows (FAT 32 file structure).

To see if the HP iPod is formatted for Windows, go to Settings , and then About on the HP iPod. If it is formatted in Windows, Format Windows displays at the bottom of the screen. If the HP iPod is not formatted in Windows, connect it to a Windows computer using the USB cable and follow the on-screen instructions.

NOTE:

The HP iPod defaults to the Macintosh file structure, therefore iPods connected only to a Macintosh computer are not compatible with the printer. However, after connecting to a Windows computer, the Macintosh user can still fully synch their HP iPod back to Macintosh and Mac iTunes and maintain printer support.

Step two: Import photos to the HP iPod

Copy photos from the memory card to the HP iPod using the Belkin Media Reader for HP iPod.
Make sure that the photos are on the HP iPod by selecting Photo Import on the HP iPod menu. Photos appear as "rolls".

Step three: Print photos from the HP iPod

Connect the HP iPod to the printer’s front USB port using the USB cable that came with the iPod.
The printer LCD displays Reading Device . Due to the large capacity of the iPod, this could take several minutes.
The printer LCD then displays the number of photos found on all film rolls stored on the HP iPod.
Select a photo to print and press the Print button. Refer to the printer's User’s Guide for more information on selecting photos to print.

Have you ever seen a video on YouTube and wanted to put it onto your computer or MP4 player, well you would be pleased to know that there are plenty of services out there that will do that for you.

I am going to talk about one, called DownloadYouTubeVideos.com, to download the video you just insert the URL of the video on YouTube and click the Download button.

You will then be taken to a page where you can download the video, you must now right click on the download link and select Save Target As (IE) or Save Link As (Firefox), change the file type to All Files and give the file a filename, you must add .flv to the end of the filename (Eg, Thevideo.flv).

The video will download. You will need an FLV player or some FLV converting software, for the FLV player i suggest a program called Wimpy FLV, the software is available for both Windows and Mac.

To convert the videos for use on an MP4 player, I use a site called vixy.net, this can both convert straight from YouTube into a whole host of video and audio files, or you can convert the FLV file you just downloaded.

The Consolidated Diamond Mine, owned by De Beers, is reputed to have the largest private earthmoving fleet in the world. It has been a virtually secret operation since the early 1900’s. There are enough antique machines to stock a museum.

Once a vehicle or piece of equipment enters De Beers diamond mining area, it is never allowed to leave. Since its not practical to search for an object as small as a diamond, De Beers simply assigns all these outmoded vehicles and machines to this eerie graveyard. It was an amazing sight, but I was most frightened of seeing a snake hiding amongst the rust.

Here you can see Sherman tanks, a train of turn-of-the-century railroad cars with German markings and an ominous looking World War 11 battle tank with a British insignia on it had a huge steel blade welded in front of the gun turret as De Beers converted these tanks to bulldozers after the war!

The game show fever in Bollywood starts from "Kon Banega Crorepati" which is host by first Amitabh Bachchan and then Shahrukh Khan. After that there are many game show been on Indian televisions. Shahrukh did his 2nd game show named "kya aap panchivi pass tez".

Now Shah Rukh Khan is negotiating with Star Plus to host an edgy reality show based on Fox network's 'Moment of Truth.' The show's 21 episodes first season, hosted by Mark Walberg, premiered on January 23, 2008 and drew a creditable response prompting Fox to go for a second season.

Contestants in the show are asked a series of 21 increasingly embarrassing questions concerning their close friends, colleagues and relative. They are eliminated anytime they don't answer truthfully. In the run up to show, contestants are strapped to a polygraph and asked more than 50 questions. The veracity of their response to each of the questions is determined and recorded by a polygraph expert.

During the actual show contestants are not hooked to a polygraph, instead 21 of the 50 questions asked earlier are repeated. At any time, between the polygraph and the televised game, participants can change their answers or walk away from the competition. Friends, colleagues, and family of the contestant who are gathered near the player have access to a button which can be used to switch out a question once per game, an option which is introduced to them after the third question.

The Moment Of Truth is being produced in 23 other countries, including Spain, Brazil, Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Film titles have gone from baffling to wacky to mindless and very articulate to extremely lengthy. Most titles are longer than the relationship that co-stars share! Every alternate film is known by a short form. If you don’t know what RNBDJ is or if you are unsure about the full-form of CC2C, you are just not in the ring! You need to brush up. We pick the top actors of today to see how the film-title trend has got to them.

Aamir Khan
The leading Khan of today, post Ghajini, made his debut in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (19 letters) in 1988. He was then seen in films like Raakh, Dil and Parampara in the late 80’s and early 90’s. His hit films however, were those with lengthy titles like Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin (19 letters) in 1991, Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander (19 letters) in 1992, Hum Hai Raahi Pyaar Ke (18 letters) in 1993 and Akele Hum Akele Tum (16 letters) in 1995 to name a few. First seen in Biwi Ho Toh Aisi (13 letters) in 1988, his efforts were only recognized for Maine Pyaar Kiya (14 letters) in 1989 for which he also won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. Since then he has been seen in the huge hit Andaz Apna Apna (13 letters) in 1994, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (16 letters) where he shook his booty with the oomphy Madhuri Dixit. Starting off as a small time chef in Bangkok, this man worked his way up in Bollywood and how! Today, one of the highest paid actors and the countries only khiladi man, Akshay Kumar rakes in the moolah be it a long film title or a short one! He started off with Saugandh (8 letters) in 1991. His first lengthy film title came in 1993 called Waqt Hamara Hai (13 letters). After a series of one to two word titles, Akshay transformed into khiladi man with his film Khiladiyon ka Khiladi (19 letters) in 1996. John Abraham’s Obama fascination

ohn Abraham has a unique fascination. He’s in awe of the president of the US of A and he’s no qualms about saying that he wishes to play him on screen.

And when he decided to talk about politics he became bold and said he detested Indian politicians.

He snubbed them for not being able to present role models for our youth.

He’s said blatantly, “I don’t think there is anyone who I should emulate because none in this country comes close to my ideologies. But yes, I think US President Barack Obama is the one who I can praise as a politician. If given an opportunity, I would love to enact a character like Obama than any other Indian politician.”

Recently while launching a campaign called the ‘Ungli Utha Vote Kar’ to encourage the youth of this country to come forward and vote, he expressed his concern on low voting percentage in the country and felt that young people should vote more.

Said he, “I have been regularly casting my vote and I associated myself with this campaign as a representative of India’s youth brigade. I am more than happy if my effort brings any change among the people of this country.”

John doesn’t mind actors becoming politicians but he wouldn’t want to personally walk that road.

He’s stated, “It’s good. I don’t think there is anything wrong if actors are going into politics with the sense of a social responsibility. It’s wrong to say that money is the driving force for everyone to enter politics. I don’t think so I would ever join politics! There is a complete no from my side as far as politics is concerned.”

LG Versa Modem Smartphone – New Experience

If you are aware of and follow the releases on the electronic market, you will not be surprised to find out that LG and Verizon Wireless joined their efforts and technologies to create a completely new product: LG Versa Smartphone with advanced web browsing, which will appear on March 1st, 2009. However, you will be, for sure, satisfied with its design and options, for, besides of the LG well-known quality and durability, the smartphone features some new specifications.

The most outstanding and interesting feature of this smartphone is that it comes with a QWERTY keyboard. I do not like to type on a touchscreen (a note: LG Versa has a 3-inch LCD TFT 480 x 240 touchscreen display): for me it is inconvenient. I am sure, there are many people like me, and, at last, this process is made easier. Moreover, this QWERTY keyboard may be used twofold: you can attach it to you smartphone or may leave it at home, if you do not need it.

Another characteristic, which may interest the potential buyers, is the built-in accelerometer, which allows automatic rotating of screens. Versa: New LG Phone with Detachable QWERTY

LG and Verizon Wireless has recently announced the creation of the Versa, which they claim to be a real MVP (Most Versatile Phone).

So what makes it so versatile? Well, the big feature is that it comes with a QWERTY keyboard that is detachable, with an LED screen on the back. So if you are comfortable texting without the keyboard, you can just leave it at home.

Without the QWERTY, the Versa also works as a full touchscreen, and has an animated 3D interface with three different home screens and three options of layouts. The web browser is a full HTML that supports Flash and RSS feeds, with three browser windows open at a time.

Other features include a 2 Megapixel camera with face detection, a music player, microSD memory port, Bluetooth, plus it is VZ Navigator capable. Another feature is the Chaperone program, which allows the LG Versa to have its location shared with family members via the Chaperone Web site.

Of course, a lot of phones have the features listed in the previous paragraph. The detachable QWERTY is probably going to sell the Versa the most. I have a suggestion of how to improve it: create a detachable QWERTY that is the size of a normal computer keyboard, and make it so it folds up. That would make the mobile computing experience a lot easier.

The LG Versa should be available at Verizon Wireless stores on March 1 for $199.99 after $50 mail in rebate.

Google Maps for Symbian Review

Google have recently released a native version of Google Maps, for Symbian.

Compared to the older Java version of the program, this has lots of advantages, the most obvious being start-up speed and runtime speed. Every animation is smooth, loading times are blazing if you have a good connection.

An added feature would be the GPS support. This is really cool as long as you have an always-on connection, especially when on foot. It’s got all of the search features you know from the online version of Google Maps.

Read on for some hands-on reports and screenshots.

I first tried the speed, searching and switching between display modes (important for the E70). It performed really well. There was no crash, the speed was constant, and the searches were relevant and filled with useful info. More on that below.

Afterwards, I took my GPS module and the phone with me and went out for a stroll (and to buy some beer). I was very curious about what results the imperfect precision of GPS would have on a precise map display. The results were as expected: there are some funny situations where your location is displayed as on top of a building block or in the middle of the street. Of course, there’s a precision indicator on the bottom of the screen, which works best as a disclaimer. The best precision I got was 9 meters.

Since pictures are worth way more than words, the review will continue in the form of captioned images. It’s better, simpler, more relevant.

This image’s sole purpose is for showing off. It’s the minimum zoom level. The whole world is on display, and you can click the navigation key/joystick to zoom. There’s a tad of delay between your action and the zoom-in, allowing you to zoom even closer or move the selection rectangle around. In this particular case (Nokia E70), the image is displayed in landscape mode on a 2.1 inch screen, so it’s very very sharp, even if not so big.

Now, to ‘visit’ London.. I did a quick search for ‘cafe’ while London was on screen, and I instantly got results for the particular area the map was zoomed on. Pressing a button as indicated at the bottom of the screen cycles you through the search results. The map will move quickly but smoothly to the destination point. Much smoother than on the iPhone for instance. Pressing the key allocated to the search result you are centered on brings you to the next screen…

…which is the info screen. Here’ you’ll get whatever details Google have about the current location. The ‘Directions’ options may be well known from the online version, but this time, if combined with a GPS receiver, you’ll have real navigation, live and with traffic infos. “more results” will give you the full list of results. Then, without opening any item in the list, there are some interesting options:

Most of what you see here can be found in the info page for each result, but it’s more practical to use this view if you don’t need to see the location on the map. Note the excellent integration with the operating system: you can save the information as a contact, and open the web address in its browser.

In the end, here’s a screenshot taken during the stroll. This time, it’s in portrait mode, too. I was actually 2-3 meters away from the little location dot. This is a definite recommendation, it really is an excellent program.

How To Use Cross-References to Keep Text Updated in Different Parts of the Document

The Problem:

I need to enter the same text in several different parts of a document. Copy and paste works well enough, but I need to keep the text updated.
The Solution:

The best solution is to keep the text updated in one part of the document and use cross-references to insert it in the other places. You can then update the cross-references automatically after you change the text. The easiest way to update all the fields in a document is to select the entire document (press Ctrl+A or choose Edit Select All) and then press F9 or Alt+Shift+U.
You can make a cross-reference refer to a bookmark, a heading, a footnote or endnote, a figure or table, an equation, or a numbered item (such as a page number). For a text item in a paragraph, use a bookmark. Select the text, choose Insert Bookmark, type the bookmark name, and click the Add button.
To insert the cross-reference, choose Insert Reference Cross-Reference. In the Cross-reference dialog box, select "Bookmark" in the "Reference type" drop-down list, select "Bookmark text" in the "Insert reference to" drop-down list, choose the bookmark in the "For which bookmark" list, and click the Insert button.
A cross-reference to a bookmark is the easiest way of keeping text updated in multiple parts of a document.

Tip: If you check the "Insert as hyperlink" box in the Cross-Reference dialog box, Word creates a hyperlink that you can Ctrl-click to access the original text. (In Word 2000, you click rather than Ctrl-click.) This is useful if you might otherwise lose track of the original text. If you're referring to a bookmark, you can always access it quickly via the Bookmark dialog box.

Almost every Help search I do makes Word 2003 hit the Web for the response rather than reading a local help file.
The Solution:

Word is usually searching both locally and on the Web. And not without reason: many of the best results for complex problems are in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (http://support.microsoft.com) rather than in the help files. But if you're looking for a quick answer to a straightforward question, or if you have a slow Internet connection, this can drive you up the wall.
To stop this annoyance, choose Help Customer Feedback Options to display the Service Options dialog box and click the Online Content item in the Category list. Clear the "Show content and links from Microsoft Office Online" box to prevent Office from accessing Microsoft Office Online at all. If you want to prevent Help from searching online but leave Microsoft Office Online available for other purposes, clear just the "Search online content when connected" box.
The Service Options dialog box is about the last place most people would look for the option that controls whether Word searches the Microsoft Office Online site for Help.

The Problem:

The wretched animated paperclip keeps appearingevery time I try to get help from Office, and sometimes even when I'm just working. How can I get rid of it?
The Solution:

Some people presumably love the Office Assistant charactersClippit (the paperclip), Rocky the Dog, the Office Cat, the Genius, Mother Naturebut I've never met these people. Everyone who mentions the Office Assistant wants to get rid of it.
To prevent the Office Assistant from appearing, right-click the Office Assistant character that's currently bugging you and click Properties on the shortcut menu. On the Options tab of the Office Assistant dialog box, uncheck the "Use the Office Assistant" box and click the OK button.
Even if you choose not to disable the Office Assistant fully, you can curb its interfering habits here.

Tip: The Options dialog box also lets you control what the Office Assistant does if you decide to use it. The top section of the tab gives you options for controlling whether the Office Assistant offers help with wizards, displays alerts when something is wrong, moves when it is in the way (a good idea if you're using the Assistant), makes sounds (usually a bad idea), and searches for both product and programming help when you're programming. The Show Tips About section lets you control which items, if any, the Office Assistant offers you tips about. For example, the "Using features more effectively" option controls whether the Office Assistant pops up suggestions about letter writing when you type one of its trigger phrases for letters. What if you want the Office Assistant back? Simply choose Help Show the Office Assistant, and the brute is back with you. Invoking the Office Assistant like this checks the "Use the Office Assistant" box on the Options tab of the Office Assistant dialog box, so you'll need to uncheck this checkbox when you want peace and quiet again.
Tip: Want the Office Assistant off your computer for all eternity (or until your next "upgrade" of Office)? Open the Control Panel and use the Add or Remove Programs feature to change your installation of Office. Expand the Office Tools item, click the symbol box next to Office Assistant, and then choose Not Available in the drop-down menu. Finish the installation routine, and the Office Assistant will be gone for good.

Ms Excel :: How To Insert a Date That Doesn't Change

The Problem:

When I use a template that includes a date field (for example, on a letter), the date shown is always the date when I print the letter, even if I'm printing a fresh copy of a letter that was last changed five years ago.
The Solution:

As is often the case, Word is trying to help, but you just don't appreciate its efforts.
If the date field you want to affect is in a document you just opened, and it's showing the correct date (for example, five years ago), click in the field and either lock it (press Ctrl+F11) or unlink it (press Ctrl+Shift+F11) so that it won't change. Then save your document.
To prevent the problem from occurring in new documents you create based on the template containing the field, open the template and choose Insert Date and Time. In the Date and Time dialog box, select the date format, uncheck the "Update automatically" box, and click the OK button. Choose File Save to save the changes, and then choose File Close to close the template.
To prevent the date (and time) in a document from being updated when you save or print it, uncheck the "Update automatically" box in the Date and Time dialog box.

How Does One Enter the Fold of Islam?
In order to enter the fold of Islam and become a Muslim, there are no specific religious rituals or customs that one need to perform, neither in specific areas nor in front of specific people. This is due to the fact that Islam is a direct relationship between the slave and His Lord without any intermediaries. Also one does not need to exert great efforts [to enter its fold], he merely needs to utter a few words which are easy on the tongue but very weighty in meaning. One who has decided to become Muslim says the following words in order to enter the fold of Islam, which is called the ‘Shahaadataan’
"Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan
'abd-ullahi wa rasooluh.
"I testify that there is no true deity except Allah, and I
testify that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger."
This statement is the key to the door of Islam. Whoever utters it shuns all other religions besides Islam and all beliefs which differ from it. Through this statement, he receives the rights which all other Muslims receive, and he must fulfill the rights which all other Muslims must fulfill. His wealth, honor and blood become consecrate and protected, except for those cases in which the Islamic law needs to intercede. It is true that one is regarded to be a Muslim by what is outward and apparent and that only Allah knows what is truly in his heart, but one must know the meanings found in the Shahaadataan.

The subject of the rights and duties of women in Islam has often been clouded by controversy,
personal opinions and sheer ignorance. Although many scholars have dealt with this subject,
there has remained a need to discuss wider aspects of the issue than are often
Maulana Abdul Ghaffar Hasan, a scholar of Hadith and member of the Islamic Ideological Council in Pakistan,
originally presented this topic to the Council as a short Urdu paper for discussion.
Considering it to be a concise yet useful contribution to the field, I rendered it into English.
I am very grateful to my daughter Khola Hasan who not only edited the English version
but also contributed to it with her thoughts, thus adding to its substance beautifully.

I hope that this booklet will help to remove some of the misunderstandings,
prejudiced opinions and falsehoods, which circulate about the rights, and duties of women in Islam.

The issue of Women in Islam has been the subject of all kinds of controversies,
misunderstandings and especially misinformation. This work will discuss and explain this subject
according to the precise teachings of the Qur’aan and the Sunnah (sayings, acts, i.e., the traditions) of Allah’s Messenger.

To begin with, the most important aspect of the entire issue is the spiritual aspect.
The Muslim accepts that the main purpose behind the creation of jinn and mankind was that they should worship Allah
, struggle against the forces of Satan and live their life according to Allah's Commandments in order to achieve eternal bliss in Paradise.

While it's short in length (only 57 minutes) it's the kind of book you want to listen to over and over again. It has a very calming feel to it (Dyer's voice is magical) and offers a philsophy for life that simply put is revolutionary.

If you ever feel a bit off your center, Dyer's work is a great way to regain your mental and emotional balance. 101 Ways to Transform Your Life is the perfect book to listen to for this purpose. I can't really recommend an audiobook any more highly than this one.
